Oocyte and Embryo Research

The Laboratory for Oocyte and Embryo Research is a cross-faculty strategic initiative designed to bring together expertise in oocyte and embryo biology at UCL. The Laboratory comprises basic scientists (Greg FitzHarris, IfWH, and John Carroll, CDB) and clinician scientists (Hayden Homer, IfWH). We use multiple approaches, including gene silencing, overexpression, real time fluorescence imaging, and transgenics, to dissect the molecular pathways underpinning oocyte growth, maturation, fertilisation and preimplantation embryo development.
